Minnesota is not only known for the more than 10,000 lakes that it has in there, but it is also known to have several wonderful colleges and universities there too. Augsburg College was originally founded in 1869 in Wisconsin and later moved to Minneapolis in 1872. It is a small liberal arts college with only 3,700 students and has a large emphasis on community service and is has a religious affiliation with the Lutheran Church which is the majority religion in Minnesota. This liberal arts college offer undergraduate in addition to graduate degrees in small classes and a great urban setting.
If you are an artist, then attending the Minnesota School of Art and Design would be an excellent choice. This school has existed for over 125 years and has the highest accreditation level possible for an art and design school. It offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in addition to a bachelor of Science degree available for the students. MCAD is regularly listed in the top 50 art colleges in the U.S. News and World Reports. The college regualrly interacts with the urban community in various ways whether it is for exhibitions or youth programs.
The final school located in Minneapolis is named the College of St. Thomas and has over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It has a Catholic affiliation and promotes a tradition of service for its student body. St. Thomas is ranked as one of the top five schools in the nation for study abroad programs with more than 60% of its student body being involved in international travel study programs.
